Presented by LIFE Senior Services, “Community Information & Assistance Training” (CIAT) offers in-depth information on government programs, home and community-based services, and ethics with an emphasis on mental health and older adults. CIAT is designed especially for social workers, case managers, behavioral health specialists, and healthcare, home care, and housing professionals. Upon completion of the series, you will have a well-rounded understanding of government programs and home and community-based services for seniors, as well as insight into mental health issues among older adults.
Each day is structured to be self-contained and each session offers 6 CEUs. December’s session includes three hours specifically on ethics.
Registration Information
Individual sessions are $99 each.
A continental breakfast and lunch are served for each session.

CIAT Objectives
Name and describe the Oklahoma Medicaid long-term care waiver.
Name and describe two programs of the Community Living, Aging and Protective Services division of Oklahoma Human Services.
Differentiate between Medicare and Medicaid.
Name and describe the services of two resources for seniors and caregivers that are new to you.
Differentiate between Meals On Wheels and Chefs for Seniors. How are they alike and different?
Describe at least three benefits of adult day health services for either the participants or their caregivers.
Name and describe two ethical issues of aging.
Explain why self-neglect is difficult for APS to address

The training will be held from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Legacy Plaza East Conference Center at 5330 East 31st Street in Tulsa, OK.
Friday, November 15 - Session Two: Resources for Seniors & Caregivers
(6 hours CEUs offered for LCSW, MSW, CCM, LPC, LMFT, Long-Term Care and Home Care Administrators)Friday, December 13 –Session Three:Mental Health & Older Adults (includes 3 hours Ethics CEUs)
(6 hours CEUs offered for LCSW, MSW, and Home Care Administrators; 3 hours Ethics CEUs and 3 general CEUs for LPC, LMFT, CCM and Long-Term Care Administrators.)
Decoding the VA
The Veterans Administration is an incredible resource for American veterans and their families, but it can be overwhelming learning about all its different programs and navigating the system to access those programs. This seminar is designed to acquaint you with all the Oklahoma VA programs, introduce you to key staff members in those programs, and help you get your veterans qualified and enrolled in the appropriate programs and services.
The training will be held Wednesday, November 13 from 8 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. at the Legacy Plaza East Conference Center at 5330 East 31st Street in Tulsa, OK.
The cost is $75.
