Story Core: Meet Marybeth

LIFE’s SeniorLine recently received a call for help from a diabetic, 82-year old woman. Marybeth, had been shaking so badly she dropped and broke her blood/sugar monitor. The insurance company wouldn’t pay to replace it, and she couldn’t get through on the phone to her healthcare provider while their network was down. So, she called LIFE’s SeniorLine crying, scared, and frustrated.

Sherita, one of LIFE’s case managers, quickly helped her problem solve and found a resource for medical supplies and more.

Not only could they accommodate the specific request for a finger monitor, but also provided the strips, needles, and other required and expensive accessories. Everything was personally delivered to Marybeth.

Marybeth told Sherita, “You’re a lifesaver. I would give you a big hug if you were here.”

Thanks to support from caring people like you, LIFE can tell success stories, like Marybeth’s. With resources in hand, she now has her diabetes back under control.

We would like to share her hug with you.

But through talking to Erin (LIFE, LPC and case manager), she guided me in the right direction.”
